Black Dragon was established in 2003. We are a insured organization, registered & certified member of the U.S. International TaeKwon-Do Federation (USITF). The USITF is an official governing body for the International TaeKwon-Do Federation (ITF). All standards are those set by the ITF & USITF. Students testing under a certified Instructor / Board are recognized Nationally and Internationally.
All Instructor’s are USITF Certified Black Belt’s and have gone thru many years of training in the art of TaeKwon-Do. The Founder/Head Instructor is also a certified instructor and member of the Midwest Association of Professional Martial Artists (MAPMA).
Black Dragon is committed to the best interest of each student in their training, values, physical fitness, self respect and the respect for others. It is committed to the Safety of all our students and teaches that the martial arts taught shall only be used for body conditioning, self defense, tournaments and the enjoyment of the art.
Black Dragon teaches the art of TaeKwon-Do. Tournaments & Seminars are offered thru Black Dragon and other Martial Arts Schools to compliment the student’s growth in the Martial Arts and to have fun doing it. Judo & Eskrima are also taught.
TaeKwon-Do offers Pattern's, Sparring, Board Breaking & Self Defense. It is the world's most popular martial art in terms of the number of practitioners. TaeKwon is loosely translated as "foot and hand". The "Do" of TaeKwon-Do is the "art" in which the techniques are studied, practiced & mastered. Therefore, "TaeKwon-Do" being the Art of Foot & Hand. Also, "Do" is translated as "the Way", which are the values in which we live by as a martial artist that carries over into our personal lives. Value’s such as Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self Control and Indomitable Spirit.
